What is coworking?

Coworking is a shared office environment where individuals work independently within the same space. Coworking spaces attract consultants, managers, business owners and small teams, basically anyone who wants a professional work zone rather than going to the expense and hassle of having their own business premises or working from a hotel room, cafe or library. Coworking is also an excellent way to escape the isolation and distractions of working from home and be around like-minded people in a productive, inspiring and comfortable environment.

Coworking was invented in 2005 by Brad Neuberg, a computer programmer in San Francisco. He wanted the freedom and independence of working for himself along with the structure and community of working with others. Being a problem solver by nature, he coined the term ‘Cowork’ and opened the first ever coworking space.

What if I'm on calls / video calls during the day?

These days many of us are. As long as you bring headphones and are mindful of your speaking volume the odd phone call or short meeting can be appropriate. However if it’s loud, frequent or begins to interfere with other coworkers for too much of the day, then we encourage the use of the lounge area in front reception, the outdoor seating areas or hiring a private room if available.

The atmosphere of the space is not to be a silent library, and kept in balance with the consideration of other users in our mind, actions and volume at all times.

Am I locked in to a contract or minimum term?

Not at all – we want you to enjoy Nest Workspace as much or as little as you like, so there are options. Our various monthly memberships are automatically billed month-to-month with no lock-in contract or joining fee. You can cancel your monthly membership at any time before the end of the current billing period, with the cancellation taking effect at the end of that period. If you’d prefer not to become a monthly member, we offer casual day passes and day pass value packs.

What is hot-desking?

Find your desk, plug in and you’re all set for a productive work day! You don’t have to become a monthly member to snap up a desk for the day.

Book a day pass online as often as you like (subject to availability).

What's included in a membership?

Your membership includes access to our professional office facilities Monday to Friday 8.30 to 6pm. Includes high speed cabled internet, wifi is available too (wifi is not as reliable in the private rooms through thick walls). Reasonable amount of printing/scanning/copying, air-conditioning, full kitchen access with free coffee, teas, filtered water.

What furniture is provided?

Each desk area is equipped with an electric sit stand desk, fully adjustable premium ergonomic chair, antifatigue mat if you choose to stand, laptop stand with separate keyboard and mouse.

Our meeting room includes a round meeting table with seating space for up to 6, whiteboard & markers

Our consulting room includes a desk with ample seating for colleagues or clients, and a coffee table or electric lift massage table available on request.

Is your office space accessible?

Yes, the front entrance, toilet and certain rooms and desks are accessible.

Please note entry via the accessible entrance at the front of the building (vs side entrance) will vary across the week, so please send us an email with your requirements and timeframes and we’re more than happy to facilitate what you need based on your hours of use and direct you to the areas that are accessible.

Is it pet friendly?

Pets are not permitted in coworking areas.

Do I need to be a member to book the meeting room?

No, our meeting room is available to the general public and can be hired by the hour, or full day. See the ‘Rooms’ page for pricing and to make a booking online.

What's parking and access into the building like?

There are Nest Workspace marked parking spaces in the car park on site (entry via Capper St). If these spaces are full, there are usually parks on Capper or Wynyard Street.

The front door entrance is facing Capper St, this entrance is shared with The Nest Family Chiropractic, and if locked please access via the side door off the car park.

Do you take casual drop-ins or do I have to become a member?

We love drop-ins, just book a day pass online and check availability first to avoid disappointment.

Where do I find pricing?

Pricing is shown on each page under ‘Desks’ or ‘ Rooms’ in the menu along the top. Any other queries email hello@nestworkspace.com.au
